Ex-Proshika chairman gets one month’s jail

Wednesday, 24 January 2018

The High Court awarded on Tuesday a one-month jail in civil prison to Qazi Faruque Ahmed, the former chairman of Proshika, for violating court's directive, reports UNB.
A single bench of Justice Md Mozibur Rahman also directed Qazi Faruque to hand over the office of the Proshika chairman to its incumbent Chairman within 15 days or he will face detention.
In 2009 the HC issued the same directive asking Qazi Faruque to handover the non-government organisation's office to its incumbent Chairman Advocate MA Wadud, as he (Faruque) was sacked from the organisation on various charges on May 24.
