Ex-RAB officer \\\'confesses\\\' to N\\\'ganj killings

Former Major Arif Hossain has reportedly admitted to his involvement in the murder of seven people in Narayanganj last month. Arif, also a former officer of Narayanganj-based RAB-11, gave a confessional statement before the District Judge KM Mohiuddin on Wednesday, said Sakhawat Hossain, President of the Narayanganj District Lawyers’ Association. Arif Hossain and former Navy Lt Commander NM Rana, also an ex-officer of the Rapid Action Battalion (RAB)-11, an elite police unit, were brought before the court today. But whether Rana gave a confessional statement is not clear, according to a news agency.
