Ex- secy of Qawmi Chhatra Oikya Parishad among six held

BRAHMANBARIA, May 4 (UNB): Police on Monday arrested Maulana Belal Hossain, former secretary of Brahmanbaria Qwami Chhatra Oikya Parishad and teacher of Jamia Yunusia Madrasah, in connection with the recent violence in the district.
Five more Hefazat leaders and activists have been arrested in the last 24 hours for their alleged involvement in the violence.
During preliminary interrogation, Maulana Belal Hossain reportedly confessed that on March 26, 27 and 28 students and teachers of various madrasahs , including Jamia Yunusiya Madrasah, went on a rampage at the behest of the central leaders of Hefazat.
