Ex-secy Shah Kamal sent to jail

A Dhaka court has sent Shah Kamal, former senior secretary of the Ministry of Disaster Management and Relief, to jail in a case lodged under The Foreign Exchange Regulation Act, 1947, reports BSS.
Dhaka Metropolitan Magistrate Torikul Islam passed the order on Friday, as police produced the accused before the court after completion of his five-day remand in the case and pleaded to keep him behind the bars until the end of probe.
On August 18, Dhaka Metropolitan Magistrate Mahbub Ahammed placed Shah Kamal on five-day remand.
Police raided Shah Kamal's residence in Mohammadpur Babar Road area on August 16 and seized Tk 31.1 million worth of local and foreign currencies.
