Exam paper leakage must be protected

Saturday, 3 May 2014

Question papers of various exams are being leaked out. It has become almost routine and hurting our education sector badly. Confidence of the common people is eroding. We know tough measures are not taken to stop such incidents and the guilty people are not being punished. As a result, this crime does not come to an end.
The Education Ministry always forms a probe committee but we don't know what happens next. If concrete steps are not taken and masterminds behind such crimes are not unmasked, we don't see any let-up in such occurrences. Guardians complain that question papers are leaked out but the perpetrators always remain out of the reach of law enforcers. It encourages them to continue their lucrative trade. The meritorious students are discouraged by such incidents as their hard work is not rewarded fairly. The tradition of impunity to the wrongdoers must end and the guilty people should face the consequences of their offences.
Quality education is the backbone of any society and if we fail to ensure it for our children, our nation will be in great danger. So, it is high time we put an end to the question paper leakage that creates irreparable damage to our education sector and makes it vulnerable.
