Corruption has turned out to be an all-pervasive menace in the country due to people's excessive greed for money, said Dhaka University's Professor Emeritus Dr Anisuzzaman. 'There’re two types of people who indulge in corruption – those who get poor salary and those who are greedy,' he told a discussion in the city. Dr Anisuzzaman said the greediness of corrupt people has now crossed the limit as they are now building their 2nd homes abroad with their ill-gotten money. The Anti Corruption Commission (ACC) organised the discussion at Shilpakala Academy auditorium. Speaking as the chief guest, Dr Anisuzzaman said a social movement involving people from all strata should be launched to resist the widespread of corruption. ‘The resistance should come from the family level. If family members resist the corruption of its head, the menace will come down,’ he said. Dr Anisuzzaman said the ACC as the national anti-graft body has a responsibility to take effective steps to check graft so that corrupts never can dare to indulge in the menace, according to a news agency.
