Execution of killers : Bodies express satisfaction

Different socio-cultural and financial organisations Tuesday held prayer meetings and expressed satisfaction over execution of the killers of father of the nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman.
Expressing satisfaction, Transparency International Bangladesh (TIB) in a statement said the nation had gone ahead a step towards establishing democracy and the rule of law in the country with the execution of the killers of Bangabandhu.
Janata Bank Ltd held a special prayer meeting in its head office for the killers of father of the nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman being executed.
The chief executive officer and managing director, deputy managing directors, other officials and employees of the bank joined the prayer meeting followed by a milad mahfil.
Non-government organisation Proshika in a press release said the base of the rule of law in the country was consolidated with the execution of the killers of Bangabandhu, proving that none was above the rule of law.
The organisation expressed profound gratitude to Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina and thanked the country's independent judiciary for executing the killers of Bangabandhu through fair trial.
Bangladesh Christian Association in a statement thanked the government and the judiciary for freeing the nation from the scandal and curse by executing the killers of Bangabandhu and his family members after 34 years of the atrocious killings.
Bangladesh Chhatra League (BCL) brought out a pleasure procession on the Dhaka University (DU) campus at noon congratulating the government and the judiciary for hanging the killers of Bangabandhu.
All the aforesaid organisations demanded immediate return of other convicted killers, now absconding abroad, to Bangladesh and execute them as well.
