Execution of 'Vested Property Return Act' sacred duty of AL: Amu

JHALAKATHI, Dec 5 (BSS): Awami League (AL) Advisory Committee Member Amir Hossain Amu has said the execution of the Vested Property Return Act after re-enacting it in the parliament is the duty of the party.
He made the remark while addressing the biennial conference of Jhalakathi unit of Bangladesh Hindu- Buddha-Christian Oikya Parishad and Bangladesh Puja Udjapan Parishad Friday.
District presidents of the organisations Dilip Kumar Basu and Advocate Omal Chandra Dey presided over two sessions of the function.
Bangladesh Puja Udjapan Parishad central president and chief news editor of Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha (BSS) Swapan Kumar Saha and central general secretary of Bangladesh Hindu-Buddha- Christian Oikya Parishad Advocate Rana Dasgupta addressed the function as the special guests.
Mr Amu said Awami League agrees with the opinion of both the organisations. He said the Bengali nation achieved independence through a 23-year struggle against the then Pakistani rulers.
The nation had to wait for 34 years to get justice against murder of the Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman.
