EXIM Bank awards scholarships to poor students

Export Import (EXIM) Bank of Bangladesh Ltd, a leading private commercial bank in the country, has distributed scholarships among the poor and meritorious students of Jessore region as part of its corporate social responsibility (CSR).
The scholarship distribution programme was held at a club in Jessore town Monday, said a press release.
EXIM Bank's Board Audit Committee Chairman AKM Nurul Fazal Bulbul attended the function as the chief guest and gave away cheques to the students. Managing Director Kazi Masihur Rahman presided over the function.
Director Abdullah Al Zahir Swapan and Senior Vice President and Head of Human Resources Division Shah Md Abdul Bari, among others, were also present on the occasion.
A total of 31 students from different educational institutions of Jessore region, namely MM College, Jessore Cantonment College, Jessore Zila school received the scholarships.
Nurul Fazal Bulbul, in his speech, said EXIM Bank has planned to give scholarship to 500 poor and meritorious students of different educational institutes of the country each year.
Managing Director Kazi Masihur Rahman said EXIM Bank feels pride to have a chance to give scholarship to the brilliant students of Jessore region.
EXIM Bank is keen to continue charity activities as part of its CSR beside the banking business, he added.
