EXIM Bank distributes scholarships

Export Import Bank of Bangladesh Limited (EXIM Bank) distributed scholarships to the brilliant and poverty stricken students of Mymensingh region.
The programme was held at the Syed Nazrul Islam auditorium of the Bangladesh Agricultural University (BAU) in Mymensingh recently.
Chaired by EXIM Bank Audit Committee Chairman AKM Nurul Fazal Bulbul, the function was attended, among others, by BAU Vice-chancellor Musharraf Hossain Miah as the chief guest.
The BAU vice-chancellor handed over the cheques among the students in the function.
A total of 31 students from different educational institutions of the region, like BAU, Mymensingh Medical College, received the scholarships.
BAU vice-chancellor said EXIM Bank initiated praiseworthy scheme for encouraging the education of the future generation.
He urged the bank authority to continue such type of activities in the coming days also.
The vice-chancellor expressed his good wishes for the bank to flourish its name and fame day by day.
Bulbul said the bank has policy to give scholarship to 500 meritorious and poverty stricken students of different educational institutes of the country by this year.
He requested the awarded students to study hard to secure brilliant result in future too and attain scholarship facility of the bank until completion of their student life.
Exim Bank Managing Director Kazi Masihur Rahman said Mymensingh is one of the best sources of Bengali literature and culture.
EXIM Bank feels pride and prestige to have a chance to give scholarship to the brilliant students of Mymensingh, he said.
The bank has established its foundation with a view to function the corporate social responsibility successfully beside the banking business, he added.
