Expatriate Bangladeshis should invest in Bangladesh

Tuesday, 5 March 2019

Bangladesh was ranked 176 among 190 economies in the ease-of-doing- business index, according to the 2018 annual ratings of countries by the World Bank. Bangladesh came last among all the South Asian countries. This position of the country in the global ranking should be improved if the country wants to have more investment flow in.
Many Bangladeshi expatriates are interested to invest in Bangladesh. Expatriate Bangladeshis want to play a role in improving the economy of their country of origin. As many as 100 economic zones are being set up in the country. Expatriates can take this opportunity to set up their businesses in these zones by investing their capitals and skills.
The Bangladeshi foreign missions abroad should encourage Bangladeshi businesspeople there to invest in the country by impressing upon them the benefits of doing business here.
In such ways, the expatriate Bangladeshis can be encouraged to invest into the country. Of course, the services and factors related to the ease of doing business needs to be improved prior to that.
