Expatriates hope to see free, fair polls

NEW YORK, Dec 26 (BSS): Expatriates of Bangladesh living in the United States have expressed the hope that the December 29 general elections will be held in a free, fair and impartial manner with participation of all political parties.
They were exchanging views at a meeting in Jackson Heights here Thursday.
With expatriate Bangladeshi leader Kamal Syeed Mohan in chair, the meeting was addressed, among others, by expatriates Dr M Shawkat Ali, Dr Abul Kashem, Belal Mahmud, Bhudha Ratna Barua, Mahadev Sarkar, Elias Master, Kazi Azharul Hoque Milon, Mohammad Noor, Subash Majumdar and Chitta Ranjon Singh.
They hoped that the government and the law enforcing agencies would take all precautionary measures to ensure violence-free polls.
