Expatriates urged to invest in telecom sector

NEW YORK, July 27: Professor Dr M Abdul Awal, adviser of Bangladesh Telecommunications Regulatory Commission (BTRC), Thursday urged the Bangladeshi expatriates to invest in the country's telecommunications and power sectors. "At present, foreign companies are doing business in our telecommunications sector," he said adding that six mobile companies have invested about 2 billion US dollars in this field. He was speaking at a press briefing at Bangladesh Consulate here. — BSS
