British High Commissioner in Bangladesh Stephen Evans has said about 1.0 million (10 lakh) Bangladeshis living in the United Kingdom (UK) are willing to invest in the country's capital market.
He said this while visiting the Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE) Sunday.
Stephen said though the stock market of Bangladesh witnessed a robust growth during the last couple of years, it has still a long way to go.
He said he is ready to help in increasing investment from Bangladesh expatriates in the country's stock market.
The task of capital market is not only to bolster its market capitalisation but also to help improve the performance of the listed weak companies, he said.
Transparency and accountability are the key factors to make the market vibrant and strengthened, he added.
