Speakers at a seminar in London have sought initiatives to ensure good governance in the country to make the best use of Bangladesh's potential for further development, reports UNB.
They said political stability, good governance and, above all, an accountable government should be there to turn Bangladesh into a middle-income country.
The speakers laid emphasis on proper utilisation of Bangladeshi talents who are engaged in various top-ranking positions across the world but willing to contribute to their homeland's progress, and Bangladesh needs to come forward to utilise their talents.
Centre for Non-Resident Bangladeshis (NRBs) arranged the seminar, titled the 'Role of NRB's Talents, Investment and Remittance Earnings for Development' at Holiday Inn Hotel with its chairman M S Sekhil Chowdhury in the chair recently.
Bangladesh Bank Executive Director Ahsan Ullah made a presentation on Bangladesh economy and investment scenario, according to a message received in Dhaka Sunday.
He said the country's financial sector is now much stronger and urged the NBRs to come up with investment in Bangladesh availing themselves of investment-friendly environment and facilities.
Bankers, lawmakers, women entrepreneurs and NRBs also spoke at the seminar.
