Expats urged to promote trade, investment in BD

Bangladesh Ambassador to USA Akramul Qader has urged the expatriate business community to promote trade and investment in Bangladesh.
He was addressing a reception on the occasion of the 10th anniversary of Bangladesh Chamber of Commerce in Dallas, Texas.
The function was attended by members of the Chamber and their friends and family, including president of the Chamber Masud Chowdhury, said a Foreign Ministry media release Tuesday, according to a news agency.
Ambassador Qader encouraged the expatriate businessmen to invest in Bangladesh, either in joint venture or on their own in shipbuilding, dredging, and informed them that these industries have got markets both in Bangladesh and abroad.
While appreciating the current existing trade relations between Bangladesh and the USA, he expressed the importance of Bangladesh’s export diversification beyond the RMG.
