Expel US ambassador Mozena, says Shafiullah

KM Shafiullah, a Sector Commander during the 1971 Liberation War, has said US Ambassador in Dhaka, Dan Mozena, has been interfering in the internal matters of Bangladesh and should be expelled. He said, "This man (Mozena) should be thrown out of the country. He pokes his nose at everything. This man is responsible for all wrongdoings." The Sector Commanders’ Forum Vice-Chairman raised the demand on Thursday at a discussion on post-election communal violence at the Dhaka Reporters Unity. Shafiullah urged the media to not run interviews of foreign diplomats such as ambassadors, making a reference to Mozena. At the meeting, Ekattorer Ghatok Dalal Nirmul Committee Vice-President Muntasir Mamun said, "Dan Mozena is known as an unofficial member of the BNP." "Foreign diplomats are responsible for political violence. They instigated this violence and assisted the BNP," he alleged, according to a news agency.
