Experts suggest regular egg intake to meet nutrition

RANGPUR, Oct 13 (BSS): Livestock experts at a post-rally discussion have laid emphasis on regular consumption of egg to meet nutrition and protein demands for building a healthier nation.
"Side by side with meeting balanced nourishment, consumption of egg ensures sound health for the people of all ages," they opined.
The divisional office of Department of Livestock Services (DLS) and Bangladesh Poultry Industry Central Council (BPICC) jointly organised the discussion at Town Hall auditorium on Friday in observance of World Egg Day-2018 in the city.
DLS Deputy Director Dr Sheikh Azizur Rahman presided over the discussion. Divisional Commissioner Mohammad Joynul Bari attended the function as the chief guest.
Acting Divisional Director (Health) Dr Shahin Ara Haque, District Livestock Officer Dr Mahbubur Rahman, president of Rangpur Poultry Industry Owners' Association Akbar Hossain and poultry farmer Mahmudul Hassan addressed as special guests.
Dr Rahman said the country's poultry sector is flourishing rapidly to improve rural economy by producing huge eggs to meet the people's protein demand on way to attain sustainable development goals (SDGs).
