Exploring the first and second rounds of INTERN 2023

The IUT Career and Business Society (IUT CBS) is hosting 'INTERN 2023', an event aimed at fostering and empowering the entrepreneurial aspirations of students at the Islamic University of Technology (IUT). This intra-IUT novice case competition, now in its fifth edition, has garnered significant attention among business enthusiasts. After an exciting first and second round, preparations are underway for the much-awaited grand finale.
The journey of INTERN 2023 commenced on June 08 with 78 enthusiastic teams ready to venture into the field of case competitions. The first round consisted of a comprehensive case study about a clothing enterprise facing immense dissatisfaction from customers due to insufficient marketing and tedious designs. The participants were to propose a solution through prudent planning and marketing strategies within a time span of 60 hours. The main objective was to assess their problem-solving skills, marketing knowledge, and design dexterity.
Following a thorough analysis and meticulous evaluation, 16 teams out of the initial 78 successfully advanced to the subsequent round. During the second round, the participants were given a case study regarding the rebranding and technological reconstruction of a mobile financial service-providing company. The second round was sketched to evaluate and develop the participants' time management, critical thinking ability, and aptitude for delivering compelling presentations.
INTERN 2023 was graced by the presence of an impeccable panel of judges. The panel comprised the IUT Alumni, known for their expertise in the arena of business competitions. Sumaieta Tasnim, one of the pivotal judges, recounted her experience saying, "As a judge for the first round of IUT CBS's INTERN, I was nothing short of appreciative of the teams' presentations, assessing their analyses, strategies, feasibility, and presentation skills. Their passion, creativity, and understanding were commendable. Selecting deserving teams to advance was a meticulous process, and I was truly inspired by the talent and dedication of my juniors. I wish them continued success in all their endeavours."
One of the participants, Nahian Shama Chaiti shared her experience regarding the first two rounds saying, "We had to think outside the box and come up with innovative solutions to set us apart as a team. Four of us were equally confused but we still managed to give our best."
Besides conducting the first and second rounds, IUT CBS has organised online workshops led by industry experts to provide invaluable insights, practical tips, and guidance on navigating business cases. As an added incentive, there awaits not only a whopping prize pool but also an exclusive training session for the winning teams.
