Explosives case filed against Ctg Jamaat leader

CHITTAGONG, Apr 12 (bdnews24.com): An explosives case has been filed in Chittagong against 2,000 people including Jamaat-e-Islami leader Shahjahan Chowdhury following Monday's clashes with the police.
Kotwali Police Station's sub-inspector (SI) Mohammad Younus filed the case under the explosives act Monday night.
Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Kotwali Police Station Mohiuddin Mahmud told the news agency that there were 29 leaders of Jamaat and its student wing Islami Chhatra Shibir amongst the accused with the remaining people unnamed.
The police arrested 11 people from the spot, and have applied to the court for an order allowing them to be kept in police remand for seven days, Mohiuddin said.
At least eight people, including five policemen, were injured during the clash.
