Expulsion order of Azimuddin withdrawn

NETRAKONA, Dec 26 (BSS): Sixtyone years after Language Movement, the Netrakona Anjuman Government High School today withdrew the expulsion order on language veteran Azimuddin Ahmed. Azimuddin was expelled from Netrakona Anjuman Government High School for reciting a poem criticizing the then West Pakistan government and Urdu language.
Azimuddin was the student of class ten of the school during the period of language movement in 1952. He was expelled from the school as he recited a poem criticizing the then West Pakistan government and Urdu language at greater Mymensing literary conference at Netrakona Datta High School premises in 1952.
The school authority withdrew the expulsion order at the inaugural function of the school's centenary festival and reunion of the students.
While expressing his feelings Azimuddin said, "Now I am free from the stigma as the expulsion order has been withdrawn.
