Extension of time for tax return submission
The people have applauded the Honorable Prime Minister and the Finance Minister for introducing a new method through opening of tax fair just to make the people aware of and feel encouraged about the importance of payment of taxes to the government, which uses the money for development of the country. Taxmen were cordial in helping the people who gathered at the fair to file the income tax returns.
As a practitioner in this area of economic activities having field experience of about 40 years I do hope this will impress the new tax payers for giving tax willingly and they will feel proud of giving taxes to the government.
In this connection, I will urge the government to extend the income tax return filing time by one month to October 31 although there is a provision for taking time from the DCT Office. But the tax payers will feel uneasy to go to the office for securing time to avoid some hassle.
So, the tax payers will be happy if the time for submission of return is extended for a period of one month.
