Extensive Aus farming plan taken up in C\\\'nawabganj

CHAPAINAWABGANJ, May 19 (BSS): An extensive Aus cultivation plan has been taken up here this year.
According to the district office of the Department of Agriculture Extension (DAE), Aus would be cultivated on a total of 54,928 hectares of land with the production target of 1,21,486 tonnes of rice in the district.
Of them, 19,160 hectares would be cultivated with the production target of 36,791 tonnes in sadar upazila, 21,391 hectares with the production target of 48,475 tonnes in Shibganj upazila, 5,845 hectares with the production target of 14,729 tonnes in Gomostapur upazila, 5,135 hectares with the production target of 12,940 tonnes in Nachole upazila and 3,397 hectares with the production target of 8,551 tonnes in Bholahat upazila, the sources added.
