Extortion case filed against ex-BNP lawmaker, nine others

sNATORE, Aug 19 (UNB): A case was filed against former BNP lawmaker Moza-mmel Haque and nine others on charge of extortion and looting bricks from a brick- field.
Awami League leader Mosharraf Hossain of Khakradoho village in Gurudaspur Upazila filed the case with the Cognisance Court-3 Thursday.
The complainant alleged that Mozammel Haque demanded Tk 0.40 million from Ahad Ali Mondol, brother of Mosharraf Hossain, but Ahad Ali gave Tk 0.10 million.
The terrorists, at the behest of the former lawmaker, looted bricks worth about Tk 0.40 million from Ahad's brick-field in January 2002.
