Extortion case filed against Redwan

COMILLA, June 28 (UNB): Former state minister and LDP leader Redwan Ahmed now in prison was accused of extortion in a case filed in the court today.
Abul Kashem of Mohichail village in Chandina Upazila, accused Redwan, his brother Emran Ahmed and three others of demanding Tk 0.20 million as toll from him.
As he failed to meet the demand, they plundered his business house and took away Tk 0.15 million cash on September 3, 2002. They also evicted him from his land.
The cognisance court sent the case to Chandina police station for investigation and report.
