Factional clash kills AL leader in Khulna

An Awami League (AL) leader was killed and four people, including two women, were injured in a clash between two rival factions at Atalia village in Terokhada upazila of Khulna on Monday morning, report agencies.
The dead is Golam Maula (50), a member of Terokhada Sadar union parishad and president of ward no-5 unit of Awami League.
Salequzzaman, officer-in-charge (OC) of Terokhada thana, said there had been a longstanding dispute between Golam Maula and local Krishak League leader Zilu Miah.
As a sequel to the enmity, Zilu had an altercation with Golam Maula around 9:00 am.
At one stage, supporters of the two groups locked into a fierce clash,, leaving five people, including Maula, critically injured.
The injured were rushed to Terokhada Health Complex where Maula succumbed to his injuries around 10:30 am.
