Fake cigarette factory found in Natore

Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) personnel have unearthed a fake cigarette factory, seized a huge amount of fake cigarettes and cigarette making materials and sealed off the factory in Bonpara under Baraigram upazila in Natore district. A team of Rab-5, led by ASP Jamal Al Naser, conducted a drive in Bonpara on Saturday afternoon and detained Abdus Salam, the factory owner, and Abdur Rahim, owner of the building. Later the elite force seized 90,000 packets of fake Gold Leaf cigarette. The arrestees were handed over to a mobile court. The mobile court, led by executive magistrate Jahid Newaz tried Abdus Salam and fined him Tk0.2 million (2 lakh). The court also sealed off the factory and destroyed the seized cigarettes, according to a news agency.
