Fake DB man arrested with firearms

The Detective Branch (DB) of Chittagong Metropolitan Police (CMP) arrested a fake detective along with two foreign country-made firearms from Chowdhury Colony in Green Valley residential area in Chittagong city on Saturday afternoon. The arrested was identified as Ismail Hossain, 23, member of a frauds’ syndicate in the port city. Babul Akhtar, additional deputy commissioner of DB, said tipped-off about the presence of a fraud syndicate in the area, police conducted a drive and arrested Ismail, who posed as a DB official, around 5pm. Police also recovered two foreign pistols, two light guns, four rounds of bullets and a wireless handset from his possession. Police said they are trying to arrest the other members of the gang, according to UNB.
