Fake OR saline factory busted: 5 arrested

Police have unearthed a factory making fake oral rehydration saline in Manikganj Sadar upazila. In a drive at the fake saline factory on Monday night, the law enforcers recovered huge spurious OR saline and arrested five people. The arrestees are factory owner Istiaque Ahmed Shakil, 28, and its employees Moniruzzaman, 22, Sheikh Parvez, 20, Yeasin Miah, 17, and Mohammad Hossain, 20. Sub-inspector of Sadar Police Station Dipankar Roy said Shakil had been manufacturing fake OR saline, glucose and juice power for the last two months under the brand name ‘Unison Foods Company’ after hiring the house of Mansur Ali at the village. Being informed, a police team conducted a drive at the factory around 10:00pm on Monday and recovered spurious OR saline and arrested them, he said. Police also seized four machines used for producing fake items, according to a news agency.
