Fakhruddin in NY to attend UNGA session

NEW YORK, Sept 23 (UNB): Chief Adviser Fakhruddin Ahmed arrived in New York this (Sunday) morning to attend the 62nd session of United Nations General Assembly (UNGA) at UN headquarter.
A VVIP flight of Emirates Airlines carrying the Chief Adviser and his entourage landed at JFK Airport at around 08:30 am (local time). The flight had taken off from Zia International Airport at about 9:48pm on Saturday.
Permanent Representative of Bangladesh to the UN Ismat Jahan and Bangladesh Ambassador to USA Humayun Kabir welcomed and received the Chief Adviser at the airport.
Later, the Chief Adviser drove in a motorcade to Hotel Intercontinental, where he will reside during his weeklong stay in New York.
Chief Adviser's wife, Neena Ahmed, Foreign Adviser Iftekhar Ahmed Chowdhury, Chief Adviser's Principal Secretary Ali Imam Majumder and Press Secretary Syed Fahim Munaim are also accompanying the CA.
The Chief Adviser will address the UNGA session on September 27.
He is scheduled to return home on September 30.
