Fakhrul, Abbas visit Khaleda Zia at hospital

BUET to decide on student politics: Gayeshwar

Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP) secretary general Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir and standing committee member Mirza Abbas visited on Monday ailing party chairperson Begum Khaleda Zia at Evercare Hospital in the capital.
The two party high-ups went to the hospital at around 2:00 pm and spent some moments there.
They also visited party leader Aman Ullah Aman who is undergoing treatment at the same hospital.
They inquired about the health conditions of Khaleda Zia and Aman Ullah Aman, according to party sources.
Meanwhile, standing committee member of BNP Gayeshwar Chandra Roy said that the authorities of Bangladesh University of Engineering and Technology (BUET) must take the decision on whether it would ban or allow student politics on the campus in the interest of the meritorious students.
"BUET must take decision on whatever there will be student politics on the campus or not in the interest of students," he said on Monday.
He made the comment while visiting injured joint convener of Natore district BNP Dewan Shaheen at BSMMU in the capital.
About attack on Dewan Shaheen by the terrorists loyal to the ruling party he said, "Our (BNP) leaders and activists very often come under attack by the terrorists of the ruling Awami League."
"These kind of barbaric attacks are being carried out by the ruling party terrorists on BNP leaders and activists," he continued.
He said that BNP leaders and activists would not escape the field (political) despite terrorist attacks on them by the ruling party.
