BNP acting secretary general Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir Tuesday accused the government of indiscriminately killing people since it assumed office by force, reports UNB.
"The current regime, which grabbed power by force through a lopsided election on January-5, is indiscriminately killing the country's people," he said.
Addressing an extended meeting of BNP's alliance partner Khelafat Mojlish, the BNP spokesman also alleged that the Awami League was killing its opponents as they did during the 1972-75 period.
"The then Awami League government in 1972 had formed Rakkhi Bahini that killed thousands of people, including youths, after picking them up at night for expressing their different opinions. Following the same ugly style, they're also killing their opponents now after picking them up."
