Fakhrul accuses govt of repressing people

BNP acting secretary general Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir on Sunday alleged that the Awami League-led government is repressing people in the name of the Liberation War sprit and democracy. “People are now passing very tough time as the government is repressing them in the name of the spirit of the Liberation War and democracy. They want to hang onto power for ever by taking people hostage,” he said. The BNP spokesman was addressing an Iftar party jointly arranged by Bangladesh Chhatra Forum and Northern Region Student Forum at the Institution of Diploma Engineers in the city, according to a news agency.
