A Dhaka court asked police on Monday to interrogate BNP acting secretary general Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir at jail gate within 10 days in a case filed with Paltan police station, reports UNB.
Metropolitan Magistrate Mohammad Asaduzzaman Nur passed the order after rejecting both the bail and remand prayers.
Earlier, Dewan Ujjal Hossain, sub-inspector of Paltan police station and the investigation officer of the case, produced the BNP leader before the court on completion of his five-day remand in another case, seeking a 10-day remand. On the other hand, Fakhrul's counsel Md Sanaullah Miah prayed for his bail.
On January 5, miscreants hurled two crude bombs targeting a motorcycle of police sergeant Tanumoy Sikdar and set the vehicle afire near Paltan Tower on Shaheed Syed Nazrul Islam Sarani in Purana Paltan in the city.
