Fallen policemen's families receive commemorations

Inspector General of Police (IGP) Hasan Mahmud Khondker on Thursday handed over commemorations to the bereaved family members of those policemen who were killed in action last year, reports UNB.
The commemorations were given for the glorious contribution of policemen who died while performing their duties.
A total of 51 policemen, including four inspectors, 13 sub-inspectors, one police sergeant, three ASIs and 30 constables were killed in accidents or gunshots by miscreants while maintaining public security as well as law and order last year.
The IGP formally handed over the commemorations, including crest, cash money, testimonials and gifts to the family members of the killed policemen at a function organised for the Police Week-2012 held at Rajarbagh police line auditorium.
