Falu sent to jail in sabotage case

A Dhaka court has ordered BNP Chairperson Khaleda Zia’s adviser Al Haj Mosaddek Ali Falu into jail in a sabotage case. Metropolitan Magistrate Shahriar Mahmud Adnan passed the order around 12:45pm on Thursday after Mosaddek Ali surrendering before the court with a petition seeking bail in the case, filed with Badda Police Station. Advocate Sanaullah Mia moved for Falu while public prosecutor Abdullah Abu opposed the bail plea. On February 3, Badda police station’s sub-inspector (SI) Humayun Kabir filed the case with the police station on charge of committing sabotage and exploding crude bombs at Badda in the city. On June 27, investigation officer of the case Akhtaruzzaman Sarker submitted the charge-sheet against 60 including Mosaddek Ali Falu. Earlier, Falu had been on bail in the same case and the bail expired on Thursday. Following expiry of the bail, he surrendered to the court today and again sought bail, according to a news agency.
