Farashganj reach plate final

Farashganj SC reached the "plate" final of the Citycell Super Cup Football tournament eliminating Rahmatganj MFS by 5-3 goals in tie breaker in the plate semifinal at the Bangabandhu National Stadium (BNS) in Dhaka Sunday, reports UNB.
The match rolled into a tie breaker after the stipulated 90 minutes and extra 30 minutes ended in a goalless draw.
Farashganj will play the plate final against Sheikh Russell KC on March 25 at the same venue at 5:00pm.
Skipper Kabir Hossain, Emeka Lucky Uti, Khokon Das, Mohammad Mamun and Enamul Haq converted the spot kicks for the winners while Idris Kasirye, Mostafa Kaba and Jahangir Patowari for the losers.
In the day's match, Rahmatganj dominated the field, but failed to convert any of chances into goal while Farashganj SC got only a real scoring chance in the entire proceeding but they failed to utilise the opportunity.
Earlier, on Saturday, Sheikh Russell KC confirmed their final berth eliminating Chittagong Abahani also by 5-3 goals in tiebreaker.
In the return semifinal on Monday, Dhaka Abahani takes on Brothers Union Club. Referee Abdur Rahman, who came from Qatar, will conduct the match.
State-owned Bangladesh Television will telecast live the match from BNS at 5 pm.
