Farida Parvin adjudged Monitor chef of the year

Farida Parvin Maya of Dhaka was adjudged as the "Monitor Chef of the Year 2011" while Masuma Ali Rekha became the first Runner-up and Sharmin Rahman the second Runner-up in the grand finale of the renowned culinary talent hunt competition in the country, said a statement. The grand finale and award presentation of "Monitor Chef of the Year 2011" was held at a city hotel Sunday. Maya was adjudged the best from live cooking demonstration of the competition. Later prizes were distributed among the winners and other contestants at a gala award ceremony. Dilip Barua, Minister for Industries was present at the award giving ceremony as the chief guest and gave away the prizes among the winners. The function was addressed, among others, by Kazi Wahidul Alam, Editor of The Bangladesh Monitor. The winner of the competition received a citation, cash award, Dhaka-Dubai-Dhaka air ticket and other awards, while 1st and 2nd runner-up received among others Dhaka-Kolkata-Dhaka and Dhaka-Cox's Bazar-Dhaka air tickets respectively.
