Farmer crushed under train in C'nawabganj

CHAPANAWABGANJ, May 16 (UNB): An indigenous farmer was crushed under the wheels of a train at Jhilim union in Sadar upazila of Chapanawabganj early Monday.
The deceased was identified as Chitta Mardi, 33, of the upazila.
Faruq Ahmed, sub-inspector (SI) of Chapainawabganj Railway Police Outpost, said Dhaka-bound 'Bonolata Express' hit Chitta Mardi while he was crossing the railway tracks in the Boro Pukuria Sonatola area around 6am, leaving him dead on the spot.
The body was handed over to his family after completion of legal procedures, the SI added.
