Farmer-friendly bank service stressed

RAJSHAHI, Oct 26: Speakers have asked the newly appointed senior officers of Rajshahi Krishi Unnayan Bank (RAKUB) to perform their duties with utmost sincerity and honesty for making the banking services farmers-friendly. Besides, they also asked them to gain professional skills as it is inevitable to attain success in the banking sector for overall socio-economic development of the nation. They were addressing the closing ceremony of a six-week foundation training course for the newly appointed senior officers of the bank at its training institute here on Sunday. RAKUB Managing Director Pradip Qumar Dutta addressed the session as the chief guest while Deputy Managing Director Siddiqur Rahman spoke as the special guest with principal of the institute Mozammel Haque in the chair. Main thrusts of the course were to enhance professional competence of the fresh officers through disseminating ideas about operation, administration and other related matters of the bank. The speakers urged the trained officers to make their banking activities free from corruption and monopoly so that the clients could derive total benefits of the banking services. Highlighting the importance of the bank in agricultural development of the northwest Bangladesh they asked the officers to apply the acquired knowledge acquired from the course properly in the professional field for boosting agricultural production in the region. As the largest development partner in the agricultural sector of the northwest Bangladesh, RAKUB plays a vital role to earn economic emancipation and free the nation from poverty and hunger through boosting credit-flow to the potential agricultural fields, they added. In this regard, they asked them to discharge their duties with utmost sincerity and honesty to brighten the image of the bank. A total of 32 senior officers took part in the training course.
