Farmer killed in Chuadanga

A farmer was hacked to death by some miscreants at Beguarkhali village in Alamdanga upazila of Chuadanga district early Sunday. The deceased was identified as Azizul Islam Azit, son of late Amod Ali of the same village. Witnesses and police said a gang of miscreants swooped on the house of Azit while he along with his wife and children was sleeping in his house at about 2:00 am. Later, the attackers chopped Azit with sharp weapons indiscriminately, leaving him seriously injured. Hearing scream of Azit’s wife and children, locals rushed to the spot. Later, Azit succumbed to his injures on the way to a local hospital. Mamun-or-Rashid, officer-in-charge of Alamdanga Police Station confirmed the murder. Police suspected that Azit might have been killed by miscreants following previous enmity, the OC added. A case was filed in this connection, according to a news agency.
