Farmer killed in Jamalpur

JAMALPUR, Feb 27 (UNB): A farmer was allegedly killed by his rivals over a trivial matter at Patalia village in the municipality area on Thursday.
The deceased was identified as Khokan, 60, a resident of the village.
Jamalpur Sadar Police Station sub-inspector Abu Bakkar Siddique said Shafiqul Islam and Momin, both residents of the village, together punched Khokan indiscriminately around 9:30am over irrigation of his cropland, leaving him critically injured.
He was whisked off to the district sadar hospital where on-duty doctors declared him dead.
The body was kept at the hospital morgue for an autopsy. A case was filed in this connection.
