Farmer killed over land dispute

A farmer was killed over land dispute at Gouripur Upazila in Mymensingh district on Wednesday afternoon. The victim was identified as Kamrul Islam, 28, son of Abu Siddique of Saniapara village. Police said, there had been a long standing dispute between victim’s father Abu Siddique and their neighbour Rajab Ali. Following an altercation over the issue, Rajab’s men attacked Kamrul Islam with sharp weapons, leaving him injured critically around 2:30pm, said Mohammad Ali Sheikh, officer-in-charge of Gouripur Police Station. Kamrul died on way to Mymensingh Medical College Hospital (MMCH), according to a news agency.
