Farmer stabbed dead in Natore, his wife injured

A farmer was stabbed to death and his wife injured by their rivals at Bishnupur village in Baraigram Upazila in Natore district on Tuesday. The dead is Abdur Razzak, 50, while the injured is Anjuara of the village. Police said a gang of identified local miscreants swooped on Razzak when he along with his wife came out of their house to respond to the call of nature early Tuesday. The attackers stabbed the farmer indiscriminately. As Anjuara came to the rescue of her husband, the criminals also attacked her. Razzak died on the spot. Hearing screams of Anjuara, locals rushed out of their houses and chased the attackers. Finally members and neighbours managed to catch one of them, Rabiul Sheikh, along with a homemade weapon and handed him over to police. Officer-in-charge of Baraigram Police Station Monirul Islam said the incident happened following a previous enmity, according to a news agency.
