Farmers expect bumper Boro output in Gaibandha

GAIBANDHA, April 8 (BSS): Farmers of Gaibandha district are expecting a bumper production of Boro paddy in the current season.
Department of Agriculture Extension (DAE) has brought a total of 124,179 hectares of land of all the seven upazilas of the district under boro cultivation with the production target of 501,039 tonnes of rice this year.
Favorable climatic condition, proper distribution of high quality seed of BADC and BMDA and electricity supply, fertilizers and other agri-inputs to the growers are the main reasons behind the bumper production, DAE sources said.
