Farooqui reappointed SBL MD

SA Farooqui has been reappointed Managing Director (MD) of Standard Bank Limited (SBL). The board of directors of the bank at its 180th meeting held in the city reappointed him SBL MD, said a press release. Mr Farooqui joined the SBL as executive vice president (EVP) since its inception in 1999 and played an active role in establishing the bank and subsequently promoted to the posts of senior executive vice president, deputy managing director and MD. Mr Farooqui started his banking career by joining Agrani Bank as Probationary Officer in 1973. He joined the National Bank Ltd. in 1985 and promoted to the post of assistant vice president in 1986 and subsequently to vice president and senior vice president. During his long banking career, Mr Farooqui served his banks in various capacities including head of different divisions and branch manager of many branches and AD branches. He took part in a number of trainings at home and abroad. Mr Farooqui visited many countries including the USA, the UK, the Netherlands, Saudi Arabia, Germany, Spain, Switzerland, Italy, Pakistan, the UAE, Malaysia, China and India.
