CHITTAGONG, Dec 23: Uncertainty looms over allotment of plots of the Ananya Housing Project of Chittagong Development Authority (CDA) due to difficulties in determining the price of land, according to sources.
The CDA had taken up the project over 170 acres of land along Oxygen-Kuwaish connecting road to meet the ever increasing housing demands of city-dwellers. The applicants have already paid about Tk 3.0 billion against 1,521 plots.
As per the rules of the district administration, the CDA authorities have already deposited about Tk 1.94 billion as service charge and other dues.
But the district administration has raised objection to the CDA criteria in determining the classification of land and price and termed that the criteria are unjustified.
As a result, it held back the CDA from allotting plots among the applicants. The applicants have become concerned and there were resentments among them.
Sources of the district administration claimed the problem would be solved after obtaining the opinion of the Ministry of Land and the applicants would not have to wait much longer.
