Father, son among 3 die in road crash

Three people, including a man and his son, were killed in a head-on collision between a CNG-run auto-rickshaw and a microbus on Dhaka-Sylhet highway in Nabiganj Upazila in Habiganj district on Friday. The deceased were identified as Qazi Sayeed Ahmed, 80, his son Qazi Hafizur Rahman, 40, of Paschim Timirpur village, and Rezaul Karim, 25, son of late Chan Miah of Kamalpur village in the upazila. Police and locals said the Nabiganj-bound auto-rickshaw collided with the microbus from opposite direction around 10am, leaving three-wheeler passengers Hafizur and Rezaul dead on the spot and Sayeed Ahmed injured. Sayeed was rushed to Sylhet MAG Osmani Medical College Hospital where doctors declared him dead, according to a news agency.
