Father, son among five killed in road accidents

Five people including father and son killed in different road accidents in Comilla and Sylhet, reports UNB.
In Comilla, three people were killed and six others injured as a bus rammed a human hauler in Shikarpur area of Sadar Dakhhin upazila on Saturday afternoon. The deceased could not be identified immediately.
The accident took place when the "Econo Paribahan" paribahan bus rammed the human hauler on Comilla-Noakhali highway around 3:30pm, leaving one dead on the spot and eight others injured, said ASP Mohammad Sulaiman Miah of Highway police (East Zone). Later, the injured were rushed to Comilla Medical College Hospital where two succumbed to their injuries.
In Sylhet, an elderly man and his son were killed as a pick-up van collided with a truck on Sylhet-Jokiganj road in Golapganj upazila on Saturday. The deceased were identified as Ekhlas Uddin (70), and his son Altaf Uddin, 35 of Borolekha upazila of Moulvibazar district. Officer-in-charge of Golapganj Police Station AKM Fazlul Haque Shibli said the truck collided with the pick-up van in Fulbari area of the upazila around 8am, leaving pick-up van passenger Altaf dead on the spot and his father Ekhlas critically injured. Ekhlas died on the way to Sylhet Osmani Medical College Hospital.
