Father, son injured in Khulna attack

A man and his son were injured in an attack allegedly by a stalker and his associates at Durjoni Mohal village in Rupsha upazila in Khulna on Monday night. The victims were identified as Sheikh Hafizur Rahman, 45, and his son Sabbir Ahmed, 20, of the village. Quoting witnesses, police said Imam Sheikh, son of Sekel Sheikh of the village, used to tease the Class-X daughter of Hafizur Rahman. On March 10, Hafizur gave her hand in marriage to Jalal Uddin of Milki Doyara village in the upazila. Angered by the incident, Imam along with his associates stabbed Hafizur and Sabbir indiscriminately and looted valuables while they were returning to their home at about 9 pm on Monday, leaving them injured. The injured were rushed to Sadar hospital, according to UNB.
